Embroidery and Artistic Discovery Masterclass : 7 weeks to immerse yourself in the magical world of Haute Couture Embroidery…

In this extended 7-week Masterclass, you will have the opportunity to intensively explore the history of Embroidery from all over the world and will also acquire the necessary technical skills to become a master of Haute Couture Embroidery art starting with drawing classes by a painter who is specialized in embroidery drawings. You will then move onto lessons on piquage / ponçage (reproducing a drawing onto fabric), and will receive personal tutoring by Elisabeth Gasbarre Roulleau herself.

During the Masterclass, you will tenjoy arranged visits to various Lyonnaise muséums (Museum of Textiles, Museum of Fine Arts, Maison des Canuts, etc) and renowned textile houses in Lyon. The goal to broaden your knowledge of the specific  artisan skills used in the world of Haute Couture and Textile Art, gaining artistic inspiration to provide you with new perspectives to enrich your embroidery projects.

You will begin the course with the  conceptualisation of a personal embroidery project which you will develop further as your Haute Couture embroidery skills improve over the 7-week intensive tuition period. At the end the Masterclass you and your classmates will present these personal projects in an exhibition at the Elisabeth Roulleau’s « Rêves de Broderies » Studio to invited journalists, artists and guests.
